Send cultures as growth on culture medium or in transport medium.
Shipping of specimens shall be done by a TDG certified individual in accordance with TDG regulations. Gram negative organisms may include but are not limited to: E. coli, Klebsiella sp., Acinetobacter sp., Pseudomonas sp. PFGE will only be applied for outbreak investigations or comparative purpose. Please consult lab prior to requesting test.
We have in-house standardized methods for E. coli, Klebsiella sp, Acinetobacter baumannii, Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Results are compared to national databases.
