Rubella Molecular EQA Panel

The molecular EQA panel for rubella virus is offered upon request. Blind panels of mock clinical samples are sent to participating laboratories for molecular detection of rubella virus RNA. A report is issued to participating laboratories.

Determination of assigned value: The assigned value is determined by the MMR unit by pre-testing samples using the Rubella RT-PCR assay.

Evaluation of performance: For participants to pass, the results must be identical to the expected results determined by the MMR unit during pre-testing.

Report distribution: As this is a special request, individual reports are generated and sent upon receipt of requesters results.

Upon request. International laboratories may be directed to other WHO network laboratories that are located in their region.

Participants are assigned alphanumeric codes which anonymizes their identity. Participant’s contact information and results are not shared among the group.
