Description:

Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing, Species Identification and Genotyping

  • 6 cultures of Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex for 1st line susceptibility testing
  • 2 cultures of Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex for 2nd line susceptibility testing
  • Mycobacterium species for identification including 2 for susceptibility testing
  • 10 cultures of Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex for genotyping

Clients will receive all selected test panels in one shipment in the month of May. Clients will be given sufficient time to test and report the panel results appropriate to the test procedures.

Scope:

Antimicrobial susceptibility testing and species identification of non-tuberculous Mycobacteria and M. tuberculosis complex and molecular strain typing of M. tuberculosis complex.

Eligibility criteria for participation:

Provincial public health laboratories are eligible for participation if proficiency request is received by NRCM within the prescribed deadline.

Confidentiality arrangements:

Participants are assigned alphanumeric codes which anonymizes their identity. Participant’s contact information and results are not shared among the group.

Complete the NRCM proficiency survey and “NML Transfer Application for Pathogens and Toxins” and submit via CTLTN collaboration on CNPHI or email NRCM at nml.nrcm-lnm.cnrm@phac-aspc.gc.ca.
