Mumps Molecular EQA Panel
<<Return to LaboratoryDetails
The molecular EQA panel is offered annually in the spring. Blind panels of mock clinical samples are sent to participating laboratories for molecular detection of mumps virus RNA. The results are compiled and a report is issued to participating laboratories. This panel is combined with the measles molecular EQA panel.
Determination of assigned value: The assigned value is determined by the MMR unit by pre-testing samples using the Mumps RT-PCR assay.
Evaluation of performance: For participants to pass, the results must be identical to the expected results determined by the MMR unit during pre-testing.
Report distribution: A preliminary report of the results will be sent following receipt of participant results. Final Individual participant reports will be provided to each participating laboratory which includes a final aggregate report with compiled participant results.
