Measles Molecular EQA Panel

The molecular EQA panel is offered annually in the spring. Blind panels of mock clinical samples are sent to participating laboratories for molecular detection of measles virus RNA. The results are compiled and a report is issued to participating laboratories. This panel is combined with the mumps molecular EQA panel.

An external quality assurance panel for the detection of measles (including vaccine, genotype A) virus by RT-PCR.

Public health laboratories and hospital diagnostic laboratories. International laboratories may be directed to other WHO network laboratories in their region.

Participants are assigned alphanumeric codes which anonymizes their identity. Participant’s contact information and results are not shared among the group.
